How to care for a practical men’s jacket?

Read the washing instructions on the label to see which materials the jacket is made of and how you can preserve its quality. Here are a few more tips for cleaning your jacket properly:
- For jackets made of natural materials, it's wise to use a mild detergent. For technical fabrics such as Gore-Tex, there are special detergents.
- Do not use bleach or fabric softener! These damage waterproof coatings.
- Close zips and Velcro fastenings to prevent damage to other garments.
- Choose a gentle cycle with cold water to preserve the jacket's technical properties.
- A special laundry bag or pillowcase protects your jacket from damage in the drum.
- When in doubt, take your jacket to a professional dry cleaner. They have the expertise to clean your jacket thoroughly and safely.
In addition, it's advisable to regularly check your jacket for worn spots, damage or loose stitching. It may be necessary to re-treat the jacket with a waterproofing spray to make it water-repellent again. Are the zips or button fastenings hard to close? Then you can lubricate them with silicone spray, beeswax, paraffin wax or special lubricants. To prevent deformation, it's important to hang the jacket on a sturdy hanger. Store the jacket in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
